Woman reports simple assault behind The Remington hotel

A woman was slapped, shoved and punched by her boyfriend in a simple assault behind a hotel on 24th Street Thursday night, according to police.

The woman reported that she was having an argument with her boyfriend over “nonsense” behind The Remington hotel on the corner of G Street. She told police that he began to shove her and slap and punch her in the face before fleeing eastbound on G Street and turning right onto 24th Street at about 9:40 p.m., according to a Metropolitan Police Department report.

The woman declined medical treatment from D.C. Fire and Emergency Services.

The case remains open, according to the report.
