Police arrest 15-year-old male for carjacking on 23rd Street last week

Police arrested a 15-year-old male Tuesday in connection with last week’s carjacking on 23rd Street, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release.

The male from Southwest D.C. was arrested following a D.C. Superior Court custody order and charged with unarmed carjacking, according to the release.

Last Thursday at about 2 a.m., three men pulled a car owner out of his parked vehicle in front of Townhouse Row on 23rd Street after demanding he hand over his phone and keys. The three then hopped in the car before fleeing northbound on 23rd Street, according to an MPD report.

The case remains under investigation. Police ask anyone with information to call 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411, according to the release.
