Three men pulled another man out of his car and stole the vehicle on 23rd Street early Thursday morning, according to a Metropolitan Police Department report.
The owner was making a phone call in his Toyota Camry while parked outside Townhouse Row at about 2 a.m. when three unarmed black man approached the vehicle, according to the report.
One of the men yelled, “Gimme your phones and keys,” and when the owner refused, the men pulled him out of the car and jumped into the vehicle before fleeing northbound on 23rd Street, the report states.
The owner’s keys and registration were still in the vehicle when it was taken. He did not report any injuries, and a lookout description for the car was released at 2:03 a.m., according to the report.
All three of the alleged perpetrators were between the ages of 17 and 20 and were wearing sweatpants and sweatshirts.
The case is still open, according to the report.
