The Class of 2017 gathered on the National Mall for the annual Commencement ceremony Sunday. U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth shared the obstacles she faced after surviving a nearly fatal helicopter crash and how she overcame them.
Duckworth encouraged students to welcome challenges they may face after graduation and to always “be humble.”
