Detectives from the homicide branch of the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a 28-year-old male for the homicide of Corcoran School of the Arts and Design employee Corrina Mehiel Monday, according to an MPD release.
El Hadji Alpha Madiou Toure, 28, was identified as a fugitive from another jurisdiction and was arrested for an outstanding warrant. He has no fixed address, according to the release.
Officials charged Toure with first degree murder while armed and theft one.
Mehiel, a project assistant at the Corcoran, was found fatally stabbed in her apartment in D.C. last Tuesday.
