A student was arrested for simple assault in Francis Scott Key Hall Thursday morning after a roommate claimed the student shut the door on her shoulder, according to a public incident report from the Metropolitan Police Department.
The victim said the student attempted to block the exit to the residence hall room at about 9:18 a.m., when the victim tried to exit by moving around the student. The student then closed the door on the victim’s right shoulder, the report said.
University Police Department officers responded to the hall after receiving a call for the incident at around 10 a.m. The victim requested medical assistance for her shoulder and was treated on scene, according to the report.
A UPD office placed the student under arrest and MPD transported the student to the Second District police station for processing, according to the document.
