Residents of 2109 F Street were evacuated Friday morning because of a natural gas leak, a University spokeswoman confirmed.
The hall was evacuated because of a “foul smelling odor,” which was determined to be the result of a damaged gas line, University spokeswoman Maralee Csellar said in an email. A contractor working in the building damaged the line, which was repaired soon after.
No one was injured, Csellar added.
D.C. Fire and EMS did not respond to the leak, a public information officer said.
Residents were notified that they could reenter the building at 11:30 a.m., according to an email to residents from the Division of Operations obtained by the Hatchet.
