Program Board responds to Action Bronson criticisms

Program Board issued a statement on Facebook Monday addressing criticism of their choice for Spring Fling, Action Bronson.

The rapper, who will headline Spring Fling on April 2, has previously been the center of controversy surrounding his 2011 song, “Consensual Rape.”

Program Board wrote that they do not condone the rhetoric of the song, and they have received confirmation that Bronson will not perform the song during his GW appearance.

“We hope students will continue to discuss Mr. Bronson and the entirety of his work and decide for themselves whether it has merit,” the organization wrote.

The statement encourages students with further concerns to reach out to Program Board or the student group Students Against Sexual Assault.
