Man pleads guilty to grabbing and assaulting two students in 2014

A man pleaded guilty to grabbing and attempting to sexually assault two women near the Foggy Bottom Metro station more than a year ago in the D.C. Superior Court, NBC Washington reported Monday.

University Police Department officersarrested the man, Mustapha Kone, 48, on Oct. 19, 2014. Kone admitted to charges of threats, kidnapping and sexual assault in court, NBC Washington reported.

Both of the women involved in the incident were students. One reported that Kone tried to pull her into the bushes in the area until she screamed and ran away.

Later in the night, Kone told a woman near the I Street Mall that he wanted to have sex with her and then pushed her on the ground and got on top of her before a group of students intervened, according to NBC Washington.

Kone could face up to 30 years in prison, NBC Washington reported. He is scheduled to be sentenced May 27.
