The University Police Department and GW Housing uncovered a litany of violations in a Munson Hall room Tuesday afternoon while the students weren’t in their room.
GW staff found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, alcohol, a knife, a “GW labeled traffic cone” and a “Corcoran labeled rug” in the room while performing an administrative search, University spokeswoman Maralee Csellar said.
The officers responded to a report of a “suspicious odor” and found the items around 3:15 p.m. They “detected an odor consistent with burning marijuana,” Csellar said. The incident was referred to the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities for further investigation, she added.
The event is listed as a drug, alcohol and weapons violation and a theft in the University’s crime log. Csellar declined to say how many students were referred for disciplinary action.
