The Smithsonian American Art Museum paired with MAGFest and American University’s Game Lab to present the “Indie Arcade” on Saturday. The exhibit was only in town for one day, but featured a variety of video games in an artistic context.
“We feel that video games belong in an art collection, just like photography had to fight for its place in the fine art canon,” Kaylin Lapan, the new media programs coordinator at the Smithsonian, said.
