Kohei Urakami, a senior majoring in fine arts, released his photography and pointillist sketches in the new student-run Griffin Gallery at the Corcoran School of Art + Design’s 17th Street building. The pieces of the gallery were inspired by the Japanese religion Shintoism and emphasize man’s relationship with nature.
“A lot of times my art talks about how one aspect of nature has to maintain balance with another,” he said.
