Metropolitan Police Department officers searched for a car on campus that was “wanted for shots fired” on campus near 20th and H streets early Friday morning.

The officers searched for a black Chevy Tahoe with a Maryland license plate number N58479 for at least a half hour, according to a campus security alert sent to students around 2 a.m. GW sent another alert around 2:30 a.m. saying that MPD had finished its search for the vehicle and that “campus has been returned to normal operations” by that time.

The alert instructed students to call 911 for MPD or to call the University Police Department if they saw the car.
