A student was arrested early Sunday morning after stabbing items in his City Hall room with a knife, according to a report from the Metropolitan Police Department.
The student, 21, was arrested at about 5 a.m. Sunday, according to the listserv.
He was charged in D.C. Superior Court on Monday with two counts of destruction of property, which is a misdemeanor, according to court records. He damaged two TVs, a wooden door and drywall, valued at a total of $780, according to the police report.
Shortly before midnight on Saturday, the student had been “behaving disorderly and belligerent within his living quarters” when his roommate “attempted to restrain and calm him,” according to the report. He then “produced a knife and proceeded to stab items inside of the location.”
The student “was eventually calmed and restrained” until police arrived, according to the report. He was taken to the hospital for “reported injuries” before police transported him to the Second District MPD station for processing.
