Man struck by train at Foggy Bottom Metro station

A man was struck by a train at the Foggy Bottom Metro station Thursday night, a Metro spokesman confirmed.

Richard Jordan, a Metro spokesman, said the man was hit by a train at approximately 6:18 p.m. Jordan said the incident “appears to be intentional,” and that the man was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Jordan did not have further information about the victim, including which hospital the man was transported to and the extent of the man’s injuries. Jordan cited a Metro policy to not release identifying information about victims.

Jordan said trains would single track between the Foggy Bottom and Arlington Cemetery stations on the blue line, and between the Foggy Bottom and Clarendon stations on the silver and orange lines.
