After leading her team to a perfect 3-0 week, junior forward Jonquel Jones was named Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Jones led the team with 10.7 rebounds per game and 15.3 points per game, shooting 55.6 percent from the field.
She was named MVP of the Freeport Division at the Junkanoo Jam in her native Bahamas. At the tournament, Jones averaged 18 points and 10.5 rebounds in wins over Perdue and N.C. State.
This is Jones’ second career Player of the Week award and her first of the season. She and the Colonials will be back in action Saturday against Fresno State at 2 p.m.
