Updated: June 25, 2014 at 3:15 p.m.

The female pedestrian struck by a bus at 18th and K streets Tuesday has died from her injuries, the DCist reported.

The woman was 58-year-old Beverly Williams of La Plata, Md. Authorities said she was running to catch the bus at 5:36 p.m. when she fell into the road and was hit, the DCist reported.

Metropolitan Police Department public information officer Paul Metcalf said Tuesday the woman was “unresponsive” and taken to a nearby emergency room in critical condition. MPD is now investigating the incident.

A spokesman for D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services did not return a request for comment.
