A car hit a pedestrian early Saturday morning at the same intersection in College Park, Md. where a GW senior was fatally struck three weeks ago.
The man was crossing the street at Knox Road and Baltimore Avenue near the University of Maryland at about 2:30 a.m. when he was hit, the Diamondback reported.
Two other pedestrians, including 23-year-old senior Carlos Pacanins, have been struck by cars in the same area in the last month.
The male pedestrian who was hit Saturday was conscious when an ambulance arrived and he suffered minor injuries, the Diamondback reported. Police said alcohol was a factor in the incident.
The accident comes after local officials promised to make improvements to the intersection. In January, 22-year-old UMD student Cory Hubbard was stuck there and died from injuries. Another pedestrian was hit on April 19, a little more than a week after Pacanins’ accident.
