President Barack Obama has endured his fair share of criticism over the course of his tenure, but alumnus and high-ranking Japanese parliament member Kazuyuki Hamada is getting personal.
Hamada, who earned his Ph.D. from GW, published a series of allegations about the Obamas’ marriage on his personal blog, claiming that the pair decided to divorce after Michelle Obama discovered that the president had been unfaithful. Hamada insists that the president has used the Secret Service to cover up his extramarital affairs.
Hamada also posits that the president was angered by his wife’s extensive spending during a recent trip to China.
The Daily Mail, an online British tabloid that picked up the story Wednesday, theorized that Hamada was upset that Michelle Obama didn’t join her husband on his trip to Tokyo. Publications like the National Enquirer have also circulated the commentary internationally since its release.
This isn’t Hamada’s first time attempting to muddy the president’s name: In 2009, he wrote a book called “Who is Obama?” which argued that Obama lied about being born in the U.S.
