Known for his roles in “The Office” and “Saving Mr. Banks,” comedian and actor BJ Novak visited D.C. this weekend to promote his newest venture: a book of short stories.
“One More Thing” is comprised of 63 short narratives and vignettes that capture unique narrative voices that more than once, Novak reminded the crowd at Politics and Prose audience on Saturday, weren’t all his.
“Thank you. This is enormous, and way larger than I expected. That’s what she said,” Novak said.
Novak made the narrators in his stories come alive, speaking as an angry man with an inquisitive mind in “Dark Matter” and then as a woman posting a personal ad in “Missed Connection.”
“If you’re not laughing for a stretch,” Novak said before he began reading, “I’m still really talented.”
Novak told the crowd that he self-identifies as a writer and with “One More Thing,” has finally found his voice.
