The filmmakers of this visually stunning love letter to modern and ancient Jerusalem were granted unprecedented access to capture typically off-limits corners of the city, like religious rituals of all three Abrahamic faiths who call the city home. Even if you aren’t immediately drawn to the subject, the film is narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, who is essentially an impossible man to dislike.

Palestinian American photographer Laila Abdul-Hadi Jadallah latest exhibit centers around rich landscapes of Morocco and Turkey she created using in-camera multiple exposures. While this gallery is off the beaten path, Jadallah’s unique medium on what could have an average subject is well worth the trek.

Catch her before she gets big!

Saturday, Feb. 8: B. J. Novak – One More Thing: Stories and Other Stories
Everyone’s favorite office temp comes to D.C. to read from his new collection of short stories. Novak is a serial overachiever. As if achieving success as a screenwriter, standup comedian, director and actor wasn’t enough, he’s now dipping his toes into the literary world to (naturally) hilarious results. The collection of 64 four-page stories has already garnered rave reviews, so arrive early to get a coveted seat and ready to laugh aloud. Novak’s book trailer, featuring ‘Office’ costar Mindy Kaling should help get you in the mood while you wait.
