Foggy Bottom’s most popular Tuesday night destination has reached a new level of infamy.
The website Thrillist named the Pennsylvania Avenue bar one of D.C.’s “Bad Decision Bars” Wednesday.
McFadden’s was named alongside competitors such as Rumors and Madam’s Organ for the honor.
“Bad Decision Bars: where one little drink leads to one little ride home on the Metro where you sleep past your stop only to awaken with four texts from ‘Skintern Blonde’ and two different stains on your shirt you can’t identify,” Laura Hayes writes.
She describes McFadden’s as an “Irish amusement park,” citing crowd pleasers such as WTF Tuesdays and, of course, the mechanical bull. It is difficult to argue with her assessment, especially with the addition of “Social Saturdays” to the weekly lineup, featuring Coors Light for just $3, and champagne for $30.
Raise high a glass for our favorite weeknight hotspot and get ready for a semester of bad decisions.
