Emergency responders rushed a man to GW Hospital after a suspect allegedly hit him over the head with a glass bottle just blocks off campus Saturday.
The man reported that he was arguing with the suspect, who he did not know, in Cafe Asia at 1720 I St. when the suspect struck him with the bottle and slammed him to the ground, according to Metropolitan Police Department documents. He suffered a gash to his head and a severe concussion.
The alleged victim stumbled out of the restaurant and bar at about 2:45 a.m. and asked police officers for help before losing consciousness. MPD is investigating the case.
