Michael Feuer, dean of the Graduate School of Education and Human Development, took over as president of the National Academy of Education this week.
Feuer, who has led GW’s education school since 2010, will now also take the reins of the country’s top organizations for education research for the next four years.
Feuer has conducted research on the economics of education and has been a member of the NAE for 10 years. He is the only GW representative in the 200-person organization.
“I hope to build upon the academy’s fine reputation and track record for building bridges between high-quality research, education policy and practice,” he said in a release.
