Two students were arrested Saturday after they reportedly fought with and injured three University Police Department officers while they were trying to quiet down a party.
The officers suffered scrapes and bruises, UPD Chief Kevin Hay said, and went to GW Hospital for treatment. A student struck one officer in the face, breaking his glasses.
Nine officers arrived at JBKO at about 1:15 a.m. after receiving a noise complaint, finding 35 people in one room with open containers of alcohol. Several people, some underaged, were intoxicated.
Hay said more than half of the people at the party were unaffiliated with GW. Some arrived while officers were on the scene, and UPD charged them with unlawful entry because they did not have an escort.
