MPD arrests student in City Hall for intent to sell marijuana

This post was written by Hatchet reporter Benjamin Kershner

Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested a student Thursday in City Hall for possession of and intent to sell marijuana.

Officers arrested a 21-year-old female student and a 28-year-old man, who was unaffiliated with GW, after a search yielded 20 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, a pack of cigarette papers and about $50 in cash.

The University Police Department had responded to a report of a suspicious odor at 8:45 p.m. on the 5th floor of the residence hall, according to MPD documents. After conducting an administrative search, the two suspects confirmed the drugs and other property belonged to them.

The documents did not include the suspects’ names.
