Must-see this weekend: D.C. Shorts Film Festival

This post was written by Hatchet reporter Kelsey Renz.

The 10th annual D.C. Shorts Film Festival comes to an end on Sunday night, and the final stretch of the event is the part you don’t want to miss.

The festival ends its two-week run Friday, Saturday and Sunday with “best of fest” screenings. On Saturday and Sunday nights, head to the U.S. Navy Memorial in Penn Quarter for a collection of jury selections and audience favorites like “Practice Makes Perfect,” a three-minute film that earned a nod for best first-time director.

When you buy your ticket online, you are actually paying for an eight-to-10 film showcase while spending less than you would on popcorn and one movie at AMC Georgetown. It’s cheaper to attend a showcase, but if you can’t make it off campus this weekend, purchase an online festival ticket and enjoy more than 100 short films on your computer and smartphone.
