Police have shut down roads leading to the Mount Vernon Campus as officers investigate a possible kidnapping on Foxhall Road.

A woman reported to the Metropolitan Police Department at about 7 a.m. that she had been abducted, the Georgetown Patch reported. MPD has closed streets from Foxhall Road to McArthur Boulevard.

The woman reported she met the suspect in Baltimore, but police told the Patch that the “elements of the crime” took place in the District.

University spokeswoman Michelle Sherrard said the University Police Department was not involved with the investigation, and the police activity would not impact GW.
