Ninety-six dachshunds sprinted down a track in a series of races to raise money for the Washington Humane Society on Saturday in Federal Triangle.
The 2nd Annual Wiener 500 Dachshund Dash, organized by OnTap Magazine, was expected to raise more than $2,000, according to event officials.
In front of a crowd of roughly 600 people, the dachshunds ran in heats to determine who would go on to the finals.
After a brief rain delay, a dog named Pumpkin won the final race and was crowned champion.
