The former leader of the Soviet Union will speak at GW next month on modern-day Russian politics and the relationship between digital media and statehood.
Mikhail Gorbachev will speak to about 1,500 people in Lisner Auditorium on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Students, staff and faculty can each receive one free ticket at the Lisner Auditorium box office from Tuesday, Sept. 17 to Friday, Sept. 20.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Gorbachev, who led the Soviet Union from 1985 until 1991, also came to GW in 1997 when he was awarded the GW President’s Medal for founding a global environmental group called Green Cross International.
