Time to tie up some loose ends on the men’s basketball recruiting front.
Darian Bryant, a D.C. native from St. John’s High School, announced last week that he is the newest member of head coach Mike Lonergan’s 2014 recruiting class.

Bryant now stands as the second member of next year’s class, following behind wing guard Anthony Swan, who committed back in May over schools like Miami and Cincinnati.
Bryant’s decision came mostly out of his comfort with the GW coaching staff, Lonergan’s system and vision for him as a freshman, according to the Washington Post. Listed as a 6-foot-5-inch shooting guard, Bryant reportedly received offers from as many as 19 schools – such as Boston University and Vermont – ultimately choosing GW over his second choice, Delaware.
Bryant averaged 11.2 points per game last season in his first year at St. John’s and has excelled guarding bigger players and shooting from the outside. His play earned him second-team All-WCAC honors this past year.
