The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating an alleged assault at 22nd and F streets Wednesday, in which a man struck a student with a cane and punched another student.

Christopher Marine, a former student who was barred from campus last spring, attacked one of the students with a cane, splitting his lip, and punched the other student in the face before he fled campus, according to a GW Alert.

Marine, a 6’2” black man, allegedly attacked the two students early this morning on the sidewalk at the intersection across from the Smith Center.

University Police Department Chief Kevin Hay declined to comment on the incident, citing the ongoing investigation.
