There’s a new furry face at the National Zoo.

This is the third delivery for Mei Xiang, who gave birth to Tai Shan in 2005. Her second cub was born last September, but died at just a week old.
After a string of five failed pregnancies, Mei Xiang underwent artificial insemination in March.
The zoo will monitor the panda for further contractions, as Giant Pandas frequently give birth to twins.
