Ben’s Chili Bowl will celebrate its 55th anniversary tomorrow with an appearance by one of the restaurant’s longtime fans, Bill Cosby.
The comedian’s longstanding relationship with the eatery started in 1986, when Cosby held a press conference there celebrating the ratings of “The Cosby Show.” Today, a massive painting of his face adorns the side of the building.
The D.C. restaurant staple is known as much for its chili as its high-profile patrons: politicians from former French President Nicolas Sarkozy to President Obama have been spotted there.
Head over to Ben’s at 10 a.m. on Thursday to see Cosby and, of course, bend breakfast rules to grab a bowl of chili.
