Before you drag your parents to Costco to stock up on ramen noodles for the year, we have a better way to spend that extra cash.
D.C.’s annual Restaurant Week starts Aug. 19 and runs through Aug. 25, offering discounted specials at the top restaurants in the district.
All eateries — 240 this year — will offer a fixed price of $20.13 for lunch and $35.13 for a 3-course dinner.
Participating restaurants include Foggy Bottom favorite District Commons and Georgetown eateries such as Bodega, Bistro Francais and Tony & Joe’s Seafood.
For example the dinner menu at Tony & Joe’s, located near the Waterfront, allows diners the choice of a 1.25 pound Maine lobster, Maryland-style crab cakes, a filet mignon or a Chesapeake Steam Pot – with shrimp, mussels, clams and crab claws.
Looking to go further from campus? Try nearby Cafe Dupont, Casa Oaxaca in Adams Morgan or Carmine’s Restaurant in Penn Quarter.
Reservations are a must. Last year, restaurants were booked up in minutes and waiting times for a table was hours.
See the full list of restaurants, snag a reservation and drool over photos from last year at the Restaurant Week website.
