The athletics department may have a foolproof way to draw GW’s most recent graduates back to the Smith Center: free tickets all season long.

For the first time, GW is offering a free ticket to each men’s basketball, women’s basketball and volleyball home game to each member of the Class of 2013. The University announced in an email blast today to new alumni that the offer is good through Oct. 25 and is first come, first serve.

The athletics department credited former Student Association President Ashwin Narla and former Colonial Army President Trevor Rockhill with arranging the offer. Alumni can sign up for free season tickets here.

The offer likely is part of GW’s push to rebuild fan enthusiasm around the the campus’s flagship athletics programs – a strategy that top officials see as a piece of growing the reputation for the University as a whole.

GW also announced regular season ticket sales for the men’s basketball team Monday. Those packages range from $55 for young alumni to $725 for courtside seats for top donors.
