Best one-liner: “He blue himself.” – Lindsay, after her new boyfriend’s paint bomb covers him in blue paint
Centered around: Lindsay Bluth-Fünke
And now we’re back to Lindsay (Portia de Rossi). Again. Luckily this one’s a little more lively than her last adventure to India, as she turns from grungy activist to high-end hooker. She starts to realize ostrich farmer Marky’s (Chris Diamantopoulos) activist/face blindness bit is losing its charm, so she ditches him after a failed paint bomb attempt. This leads her into the arms of mock Herman Cain politician Herbert Love (Terry Crews), and oddly, Lindsay unknowingly becoming a prostitute brings out some of the best in her character.
Though still a huge step down from the previous Gob (Will Arnett) episode, this Lindsay story takes her away from her uninspiring activism and back to her misguided sense of self. While her relationship with Marky was depressing, and, quite frankly, disgusting (the penthouse turned into a dump and an ostrich playpen), her fling with Love is oddly hilarious. Misinterpreted innuendos, like “I need you against this wall,” or watching an offended Lindsay unable to throw money back in Love’s face finally brings back the Lindsay we liked.
Lindsay also reclaims herself at the end when she takes Love’s place on stage at a rally and gets the crowd chanting along with her. She clearly has no idea what she’s arguing as she shouts, “Put up this wall,” yet seeing her on stage in a “politician” role weirdly makes sense: it just might be the perfect blend of her self-absorbed need for attention and occasional spurts of environmentalism.
