The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a case in which a man allegedly approached two women, punched one and stole her wallet Monday on 23rd Street near G Street.
The suspect, a black man who was wearing a dark gray hoodie, fled in a small, tan sedan driven by an “accomplice,” according to a GW Alert. The alleged robbery occurred at about 3 p.m., and the University sent out an alert at about 5:30 p.m.
University Police Department Chief Kevin Hay said MPD would lead the investigation into the incident.
