A 23-year-old student was hospitalized last weekend after he was assaulted by three men in an alley near the M Street Towers apartments.
Three black men approached the student Saturday at 2:48 a.m. and began to punch and kick him, according to Metropolitan Police Department documents. The alleged assailants, whom the student said he did not know, were unarmed, and the student was able to escape on foot.
The suspects fled the scene of the alleged assault in an unknown direction, according to the documents, and the case remains open.
When the student returned to campus from theĀ 1112 M St. apartment complex, heĀ reported the incident to the University Police Department, the documents show.
UPD turned the case over to MPD, and the victim was hospitalized for “significant bodily injury,” including a “bruise to the forehead, scrapes on the right knee, left elbow, and left palm.” He was released from the hospital shortly afterward.
