Second lady Jill Biden exalted GW’s efforts Wednesday to strengthen and diversify veteran-related programs at the University, kicking off a listening tour in which she will meet with student-veterans at several universities across the nation.
Biden, who went to GW for two semesters while earning her master’s in remedial English education, spoke for several minutes in a panel discussion, praising GW for programs including one that brings veterans from across the nation to D.C. for a semester.
The seven-person panel included student veterans who told Biden about expanded veteran programs, including Innovation Task Force projects specifically designed to target veterans.
“I cant thank you enough for everything you’re doing. It really does enhance the classroom when you have veterans,” Biden said. “It’s not just here but that you’re going to take this nationwide.”
