The Gelman Library revamp will enter a new phase in the coming weeks, with crews installing glass, ceiling tiles and raised flooring for its new ground-level entrance through Kogan Plaza.
The project, which includes construction of a new entrance and additional study spaces, remains on schedule and on budget to finish this fall, University spokeswoman Michelle Sherrard said in an email.
The University is also close to selecting new furniture and classroom technology equipment for the building.
The $16 million construction project began last summer with crews clearing second floor offices. Sherrard wrote that crews will continue to close off walls and ceilings inside the building.
Noisy work between 4 and 7 a.m. halted during the final exam period in December.
The Gelman renovation is one of many ongoing projects across campus – including construction of the University’s new Science and Engineering Hall, the School of Public Health and Health Services, the GW Museum and the Law Learning Center Garage.
