A sophomore aiming for the Student Association’s executive vice presidency is pledging to increase transparency and communication with the student body.
Mike Adam, a political science and music major, said student space will also top his platform – an issue SA executives have lobbied for during the past two years, although students have seen few gains. He announced his candidacy Friday.
Adam said he will specifically push the University to renovate common areas of residence halls that are sometimes used as furniture storage.
He said because he is involved in many groups on campus, including the Kappa Sigma fraternity, the Troubadours and the Residence Hall Association, his outsider status will liven up the SA.
“There is a lot of bureaucracy and convoluted policy,” Adam said.
Adam also said he will help advertise current initiatives, like the test bank and the University-wide calendar, to students.
“There needs to be an avenue to communicate with people to speak about issues,” he said.
