Students who spend the most time tweeting and Facebooking about GW on Inauguration Day could win hundreds of dollars in prizes.
Dubbed the GW Inaugural Challenge, the University is rewarding five students who complete the most tasks from a list of 48 that include tweeting inauguration haikus and being retweeted by politicians. The prizes include a MacBook Air, an iPad and an iPad mini.
Students can earn one point for tweeting a quote from an inauguration speech, and tally up to 50 points for organizing and recording a flash mob on University Yard after the inauguration. Students can earn an extra point for any photo or video task that features GW gear.
The contest comes after the University revamped its image last fall, pushing catchphrases like #OnlyAtGW to promote one of its biggest selling-points: its downtown D.C. location.
