A female victim was allegedly sexually assaulted just off campus early Saturday.
The 25 to 30-year-old suspect offered to help the victim hail a cab but led her to an “unpopulated area” near 19th and I streets between midnight and 1 a.m. and sexually assaulted her, according to a Metropolitan Police Department alert.
University Police Chief Kevin Hay said he did not have details on the off-campus crime. MPD spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump did not immediately return a request for comment.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-8 black male with short hair and clean shaven, weighing about 160 pounds.
