Sarah Jackson, a two-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year will take to the sidelines for the Colonials this season as a pitching coach.
Jackson competed for four years at Iona College, earning a 62-42 career record, a 1.77 ERA and 802 strikeouts. She’s the program leader in almost every pitching category, including wins, strikeouts, complete games, with 81 thrown, and shutouts, with 26 thrown.
“Sarah is a great addition to the coaching staff,” head coach Stacey Schramm said in a release. “With the [2012] graduation of veteran pitchers Kara Clauss and Heidi Penna, Sarah will be instrumental in developing a young pitching staff. Her knowledge and experience on the mound will undoubtedly fill a void. Bringing Sarah on staff is just another huge step that the GW softball program is taking in an effort to reach the top.”
