Name: Alexandra Eterno
Hometown: Redding, Conn.
Year: 2016
Major: undecided
Outfit: dress, LF Robertson; shoes, New Haven boutique; earrings, Ethiopia; bag, rings, vintage.
Alexandra describes her look as a perfect example of a feminine style which isn’t too girly or soft. This Connecticut freshman brings together a perfect combination of a chic lightweight dress, vintage jewelry and strappy sandals. Her dress has a delicate floral print, which gives the look an airy, springtime feel even in the summer heat. We all know that “what’s old is new again” could be the motto of our generation, with the re-emergence of high-waisted shorts, tennis shoes and even Birkenstocks. But this fashionista chose wisely, fusing a cute vintage crossover with a timeless look.
Name: Devyn Brauer
Hometown: Richboro, Pa.
Year: 2012
Major: Speech and Hearing, Psychology
Outfit: skirt, Forever 21; shirt, Philly boutique; shoes, necklace, bag, Bloomingdale’s; watch and jewelry, Bernie Robbins Jewelers.
Devyn Brauer might as well be your GW fashion poster child. Always on the go, she describes her style as comfortable and cute, finding the perfect combination of practicality and elegance for each outfit. Devyn embodies this fusion with her electric blue skirt, which acts as a bold addition to a dark shirt, soft jewelry and nude sandals. The contrast of the vividly colored piece and the outfit’s overall muted tones creates a fun and bubbly feel to the whole ensemble. The star piece of Devyn’s outfit, the skirt is a stylish but still functional way to get a busy girl from place to place across campus all while looking put together.
Name: Kady Murzin
Hometown: New York
Year: 2016
Major: Interior design
Outfit: top, LF Soho; shorts, thrift store; belt, Goodwill; sandals, LF Soho; rings and necklace, Brandy Melville; bag, Rebecca Minkoff; earrings, India.
New York City native Kady pulls off a vintage look with this “Pretty in Pink”–inspired outfit, paying homage to her favorite film. High-waisted shorts, colorful patterns, skinny jeans and the effortless feel of the ’80s are making a comeback, and Kady brings the inspirations of these elements together without hesitation. Floral shorts are top on the fall fashion “it-list”, but the trend isn’t pulled off by all. Kady makes the most of this look by pairing her shorts with a looser top and skinny belt, making it accessible even on blistering hot D.C. afternoons.
