A CVS manager was injured during an assault Wednesday at the store’s location on 21st and I streets, University Police Department Chief Kevin Hay said.
Hay said a man was swinging a two-by-four inside the store when the employee was struck. The man was detained “a few blocks from campus” after the manager followed the suspect out and flagged down a UPD officer. The officer reportedly called in the incident to UPD at 5:15 p.m., after which the Metropolitan Police Department was notified.
MPD Officer Tisha Gant said the man swinging the stick was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon.
