As GW’s newest varsity sport works to make its intercollegiate debut next fall, the University is searching for the team’s leader.
An opening for a sailing head coach is posted on the GW Employment Portal website, listed as a full-time position with salary “commensurate with experience.” The minimum qualifications for a candidate are a bachelor’s degree in an “appropriate area of specialization,” and three to five years of coaching experience at the college level.
The posting lists various job duties for the incoming coach, including on and off the water sailing instruction, recruiting and supervising ICSA Division I Sailing student-athletes, assisting in academic development of sailing’s athletes, overseeing the team’s budget and NCAA compliance, coordinating the team’s schedule and transportation.
