The walls of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden will pop with color after sunset this spring.
“SONG 1,” a video art installation by American artist Doug Aitken, will be projected on the 1974 Gordon Bunshaft-designed building daily until May 13.
The video installation is based on the 1934 hit song “I Only Have Eyes for You,” and a fusion of panoramic and highly saturated footage designed to wrap around the cylindrical art museum. The projection began March 22.
