Dennis Narango will assume a dual role in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences designed to raise funds and scholarship support for the program.
As associate dean and associate vice president for Medical Center development, Narango will spearhead efforts to funnel financial resources toward programs in the medical school, research efforts and the GW Hospital. He will join the University Nov. 21.
Jeffrey Akman, interim vice provost for health affairs and dean of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, said he looks forward to working closely with Narango as the program focuses on scholarship and other development initiatives.
“This is an exciting time for the school and we know that Dennis will be a great addition to our team,” Akman said in a press release Thursday.
Narango spent the last three years as associate dean for development and chief development officer at the University of Maryland’s School of Medicine. Before that, he served as acting vice president for institutional advancement, assistant vice president for institutional advancement and director of development at the University of Maryland University College.
The Loyola University alumnus also acted as director of alumni and development at Loyola Blakefield High School in Towson, Md. for two decades.
